A roadtrip and why I Love Being a Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator

A Little Trip to Reading… and a Whole Lot of Why I Love Being a Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator

This week I met 3 fellow demonstrators and took a roadtrip to Reading for the Stampin’ Up! demonstrator meeting — a whirlwind of travel and conversation, coffee, inspiration, and the best kind of crafty chaos.

And honestly? I came home buzzing. (And not just from the caffeine.)

There’s something special about gathering with people who “get it” — the joy, the passion, the thrill of a fresh pack of DSP. Being in that room reminded me exactly why I chose this crazy, colourful, paper-filled life in the first place.

Why Being a Demonstrator Means So Much to Me

For me, being a Stampin’ Up!® demonstrator isn’t just a job.
It’s a community. A connection. A chance to make something cheerful in a world that needs that more than ever.

Here’s what this trip reminded me:

1. Community is everything

Walking into a room of fellow demos feels like walking into a room of friends you just haven’t met yet. We cheer each other on, share ideas, lift each other up, and celebrate every win — big or small.

2. Creativity grows when you share it

Every conversation, every sample board, every technique swap fills my creative cup. It never fails — I leave these events brimming with ideas for my classes, kits, and club members.

3. It keeps me learning

Being a demo pushes me. New products, new techniques, new ways to teach and inspire. I love that. It keeps my own crafting evolving, and it means I can bring fresh ideas back to you.

4. It gives me purpose

Crafting helped me through some difficult chapters, and sharing it with others felt like a natural next step. Being part of Stampin’ Up! gives me a platform to help others discover that same joy, calm, and creativity.

5. And honestly… it just makes me happy & Cheerful

There’s no deep metaphor here — it simply fills my cup. Being a demo brings colour, friendships, laughter, and inspiration into my life. And I’m so grateful for it.

The Best Bit? The People.

One of my favourite moments this week was stopping for a photo with my wider team — the women who cheer me on, challenge me, inspire me, and occasionally enable my ever-growing paper stash.

I treasure these connections more than anything in my crafty world.

Coming Home Inspired

I left Reading with:
• A notebook full of ideas
• A heart full of gratitude
• And a bag full of swaps, catalogues, and plans for what’s ahead

With my rebrand to The Cheerful Crafter just days away, this trip felt perfectly timed. Being surrounded by such uplifting people confirmed that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be — building a creative community that spreads joy, connection, and kindness.

Here’s to more events, more crafting, more cheerful moments… and many more adventures as a Stampin’ Up!® demonstrator.
